What reviewers are saying about The Little Antique Shop Under the Eiffel Tower

‘This is a brilliantly written story, but then I have come to expect nothing less from the author. A definite read for fans, and also those who like a great mystery read.’ – Fiona Wilson (Goodreads)

‘What a wonderful story, its French, it has a kooky shop owner, it’s got some bad guys, a fabulous mystery at the heart of the story, and some eccentrics too. What more could you want from a new romantic comedy’ – Rachel Gilbey (Goodreads)

‘a thoroughly entertaining story of love, trust, friendship, and family, and I was completely entranced by it.’ – Books of All Kinds (Goodreads)

‘This really is contemporary romance at its best. And although this may be the first time Rebecca Raisin has been in my “to read” pile, it definitely won’t be the last.’ – Zoe (Goodreads)

My thoughts

I absolutely loved this book. It has a wonderful set of quirky characters. Anouk has been hurt by an old boyfriend who rears his head throughout the book. She runs a lovely antique shop where you have to be introduced by a present customer before you grace the doors. She wants to know that the precious antiques are going to find the best home where their story is appreciated and will create their own stories with the new owners. She visits sales with particular customers in mind and often bids on unusual items. I loved the sales.

She meets Tristan and although he is very dashing she is unsure about him. There is a spate of antique thefts and plenty of suspects. I loved her undercover work with Madame- it really made me smile.

You really can imagine yourself in the sights and smells of Paris with a wonderful leading man to sweep you off your feet, a mystery to solve and lots of pretty, vintage items to browse through.

It’s a book you won’t want to put down- ideal holiday reading. Part of a series- and although I have read several Rebecca Raisin books I hadn’t read the first one in this series. This one can be read as a standalone- although I understand Anouk made a fleeting appearance in the first book. I think we were introduced to the characters that will feature in the next book – The Little Perfume Shop off the Champs-Élysées. That sounds intriguing.

With many thanks to Carina Uk and Net Galley for a copy of this wonderful read.
