The Girl who saved Christmas- Matt Haig

This was a really lovely children’s book set in Queen Victoria’s reign. Father Christmas is really struggling to get Christmas organised after a troll attack and needs a special little girls hope to recharge the magical powers they need.

It is just the sort of book my daughter will love, lots of humour, historical references with Charles Dickens making an appearance.

I love Matt Haig’s writing style and will definately look out for more of his books. This will appeal to a child’s sense of humour- although some parents have reported reading ahead to decide whether it is the right timing for their children. I actually think that is sensible with a lot of Christmas books and films- as some seem to threaten the magic.

I voluntarily read an arc of this book.
